Description

Peace Lily - Spathiphyllum wallisii
The iconic white bloom of the Peace Lily is thought to symbolize the white flags of a ceasefire, giving it its peaceful name. Known for its impressive air-purifying qualities, it helps remove toxins like formaldehyde, ammonia, and carbon monoxide from the air. The flowers are actually specialized leaves called bracts. Native to South America, the Peace Lily belongs to the same family as the Flamingo Flower.

Peace Lily Care Guide

Light Requirements

Low to bright, indirect light

Peace Lilies prefer low to bright, indirect sunlight. Prolonged exposure to bright direct sunlight may burn and scorch their leaves and dry out their flowers.

Watering Schedule

Weekly watering

Weekly waterings should be optimum for Peace Lilies, but it will tell you when it needs water by drooping its leaves. During the winter months feel free to only water your plant fortnightly.

Humidity

No humidity requirements

The Peace Lily does not have any particular humidity requirements.

Sad Plant Signs

Brown, yellow, or drooping leaves

Brown or yellow leaves: suggest your Peace Lily has been exposed to too much light. Drooping leaves: indicate your Peace Lily has been under-watered.
