Bird of Paradise
Light
Bright, indirect light to dappled sun.
Water
Weekly watering allowing the 2” soil to completely dry out between waterings. In winter, we recommend watering less frequently to prevent overwatering and root rot.
Humidity
High humidity. Your Bird of Paradise will love being misted regularly and it will help it avoid crisping tips on its leaves.
Temperature
Bird of Paradise enjoy temperatures ranging from 18-21ºC. Avoid abrupt temperature changes and cold drafts.
Fertilizer
Feed with general houseplant fertiliser monthly during the growing season (spring to summer).
Toxicity
Toxic - keep away from pets and small children
Additional Care Information
Leaves tearing or splitting along the veins are completely normal. In nature, these delicate large leaves are designed to split with strong winds to avoid being blown over. If your plant is in a high traffic area or a drafty spot, it may split more. If this frayed appearance bothers you, you can relocate your plant to a more protected spot.
Troubleshooting
• Yellowing leaves and burnt tips: too much direct light or under-watering.
