Variegated Peace Lily

Variegated Peace Lily prefers bright, indirect light. Avoid exposing it to direct sunlight, which can scorch the leaves and cause them to develop brown patches. If placed in low light conditions, the plant may produce fewer flowers and have slower growth.

Water the Variegated Peace Lily when the top inch of the soil feels dry to the touch. Water thoroughly, allowing excess water to drain away from the pot. Keep the soil consistently moist but not soggy. Overwatering can lead to root rot, while underwatering can cause the leaves to wilt. During winter or cooler months, reduce watering frequency as the plant's growth slows down.

Maintain moderate to high humidity levels, ideally between 50-70%. Use a humidifier, pebble tray, or mist the leaves occasionally to increase humidity, especially in dry indoor environments.

Keep the Variegated Peace Lily in a warm environment with temperatures between 65-80°F (18-27°C) during the day and no lower than 55°F (13°C) at night. Avoid placing the plant near cold drafts or sudden temperature fluctuations, which can cause stress and leaf drop.

Feed the Variegated Peace Lily with a balanced, water-soluble fertilizer diluted to half strength every 4-6 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer). Use a fertilizer high in phosphorus to promote flowering. Avoid fertilizing during the winter months when the plant is dormant.

Variegated Peace Lily is toxic to pets and humans if ingested. It contains calcium oxalate crystals, which can cause irritation and swelling of the mouth, throat, and digestive tract.

Use a well-draining, aerated potting mix to prevent waterlogging and maintain good root health. Prune the Variegated Peace Lily regularly to remove dead or yellowing leaves and spent flowers. This will encourage new growth and flowering. Variegated Peace Lily can be propagated through division. Carefully divide the plant at the root ball and replant the divisions in separate pots.

Yellow Leaves: Yellowing leaves may indicate overwatering, underwatering, or a nutrient deficiency. Adjust your watering routine, check the soil moisture and nutrient levels, and consider repotting if the soil is compacted. Leaf Browning: Brown leaf tips or edges can be caused by dry air, underwatering, or excess fertilizer salts. Maintain proper humidity levels, adjust your watering routine, and flush the soil periodically to remove excess salts. Lack of Flowers: If your Variegated Peace Lily is not flowering, it may not be receiving enough light or nutrients. Ensure it is getting adequate indirect light and consider adjusting your fertilization routine to promote flowering.
